Plastic Beach.
I got the new Plastic Beach album by Gorillaz today because I've been a die-hard fan of Gorillaz for years now.
To be totally honest, it's nothing like I expected compared to their first and second album, Gorillaz and Demon Days. For those that haven't read their book, other then explaining the beginnings of Gorillaz from the "band's" point of view, it did explain a lot of the ideas really where for the first two albums. The first album really didn't have a meaning, it was just music. The second album however, had meaning, while I don't want to bother to explain it, it's about the world and it's current state. The third album, I really have no idea what the meaning is, I may have to listen to the lyrics a little closer a few more times.
The album starts out with the music that you hear on the website (or did) introducing plastic beach. Second song I laughed about a little, Snoop Dogg rap's in "Welcome to the world of the plastic beach". Through the rest of the album there are appearances by Bashy (I really have no idea who that is), and De La Soul, which anyone that keeps up with Gorillaz, they worked with De La Soul quite a bit in their last album, Demon Days.
Even though I wasn't exactly overcome with this album, I did enjoy the album. My favorites are Stylo and Superfast Jellyfish, and the album itself gives me a beach-like feeling.
I'll be looking forward to hearing the story behind the Gorillaz venture to the plastic beach.
I recommend this album to anyone who likes hip-hop, techno, and rap.
WTF?
I'm home, finally. Glad to be home. Now I can go back to my silence and having no life, which I am completely happy with. Before arriving home, I learned that we're moving into a new house. We've painted the walls, taken out the carpet, treated the house for insects (it's good to have a mother who knows hot to exterminate critters). Now we're waiting for the carpet to come in, which should be put in either Money or Tuesday. Though, the downside to all this is I have no internet till I get home, staying at my grandmothers for the weekend, so I have some temporary internet to make use of. Going to see Harry Potter 6 tomorrow, hoping for the best. It's been a kind of tradition for me to go to the movies with her, since she bought me a good number of the books, and we both like Harry Potter. I might rant on about the movie tomorrow.
So, today I was brought aware of this video on the Mibbit IRC network, take a look at this, (Also known as WTF?)
If the government wasn't trash enough. Now, I don't watch the news a lot, in the past I did, though what else would I watch with no cable long ago? Watching this sort of irritated me. I love computers, and the government going all out and making your computer their property for using a website of theirs is ridiculous, and massive evasion of privacy. End of story. All hail America.
I finally got a Google Voice invite! I was very happy to find this out. As of this time, I'm still trying to figure out a phone number to use. I'm probably going to start using it very often, probably even start giving people that number rather then my real cell phone number. Finally people can stop complaining about me not setting up my voice mail, now they can call and leave a message on my Google Voice number, and I'll make use of that.
